LuxLease, LuxOwn and LUX Care — who owns the mirror, what happens if it breaks, goes missing, or you stop paying, and how support and replacement work.
01
LuxLease
LUX owns every leased mirror. You get the right to use it at the location you register, for as long as you pay the monthly price.
You may cancel any month; the lease ends at the end of the period you have paid for, and the mirror must be on its way back to us within 14 days after that, in its original or equivalent packaging, using the prepaid label we send. Until it is back, the monthly price continues.
Ordinary wear is expected; damage is charged at the repair cost up to the LuxOwn price of the unit.
You will insure the mirror against loss and damage for its replacement value, keep it at the registered location, not sell, sublease, pledge or alter it, and let us collect it if this agreement ends. Risk of loss is yours from delivery until we sign for the return. Rent is not reduced or excused because the mirror is unavailable for a reason within your control.
02
LuxOwn
LuxOwn is a purchase paid in 12 monthly payments. Title passes to you on the 12th payment; until then LUX keeps title and a security interest in the mirror, which you authorise us to record.
If you cancel before the 12th payment, the remaining payments become due as a single invoice — the same total you would have paid — and title passes when it is paid. The 30-day trial applies from delivery.
03
Service lock
If a LuxLease or LuxOwn account is more than 15 days overdue, or a mirror is reported stolen, we may, after emailing you and giving 15 days to put it right, lock the mirror’s LUX cloud features remotely.
A locked mirror still works as a mirror and keeps every photo and record; the lock lifts within one business day of payment. We will never use the lock to delete your data or to disable safety features.
You agree that this remote lock, and our collection of a leased mirror with your cooperation, are lawful and release LUX from claims arising from either when done as described here.
04
Repair
Only LUX or a repairer we authorise may open a mirror during the warranty or a lease. Where a state’s right-to-repair law gives you more, it applies.
05
Support and replacement
Support. The help center at support.theluxmirror.com, support@theluxmirror.com and 610-718-7528, Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm Eastern. A person replies within one business day. The mirror’s help screen shows a six-digit support code; give it to us and we can see that mirror’s status without you reading anything off the back of it.
If a mirror fails. Tell us through the help center with the support code. We will first try to fix it remotely. If the unit has to be replaced under the warranty, we send a replacement and a prepaid return label; the failed unit must be on its way back within 14 days of the replacement arriving, in the replacement’s box. If it is not returned, we may invoice the replacement at the hardware price.
Advance replacement (the replacement ships before the failed unit is back) is included with LUX Care. Without it, we ship the replacement when the failed unit is received or when our remote diagnosis confirms the fault, whichever is sooner.
The replacement unit. A replacement is covered for the rest of the original warranty or 90 days from its delivery, whichever is longer. Under LuxLease it stays LUX’s, like the original. Under LuxOwn it takes the original’s place in your payment schedule: the payments you have made count towards it, title passes on the 12th payment, and our security interest moves to it. Under an outright purchase it is yours on delivery, and the returned unit becomes ours.
06
LUX Care
LUX Care extends the one-year hardware warranty for as long as it is paid and adds advance replacement: we ship a replacement before the defective unit is back. It excludes the same things as the base warranty and ends when your subscription does.
07
Trial, returns and warranty
As set out in §6 of the Terms.
