Policy changes

What changed in the version effective October 1, 2026. The previous version was effective September 7, 2026.

Privacy Policy

Changes to the Privacy Policy:

Payouts. If your salon pays its team through LUX, we now say what taxpayer information Stripe collects for that, and that we see its status, not the numbers.
Face and hand tracking. We explain that the points the mirror tracks are thrown away frame by frame, cannot identify anyone, and are never stored, and we link a new page on face data and the camera with the state-by-state notices.
Microphone. New: the mirror’s microphone is off unless the salon turns it on, listens only for short commands, and records nothing.
AI style previews. Photos sent for a preview have their metadata stripped and are deleted by our provider within an hour; every preview is marked as AI-generated.
Who we share with. Expo is added to the provider list, and a paragraph on Stripe links its privacy policy and its acquirer disclosure.
Stopping texts. Any clear request to stop now counts, not only STOP. We honour it within ten business days, and keep the consent record for at least four years.
How long we keep it. A one-line summary of every retention period.
Security. We test yearly, review our providers yearly, and keep a written incident plan.
Children. New rules for clients a salon marks as under 13 (a parent confirms in the app; photos deleted after 90 days) and for clients aged 13 to 17.

Subscriptions. What you see before you confirm, cancelling in no more steps than signing up, a reminder 30 days before LuxOwn’s 12 payments end, and 30 days’ notice of price changes.
Hardware. LuxOwn and LuxLease are now governed by the Hardware Terms.
Client records. What we commit to as the salon’s processor, including telling you within 72 hours of an incident that affects your records.
At the station. Salons display our camera notice at each mirror, and never point a mirror into a changing area.
Mirror photo terms. A sentence on AI previews: never present one as a photo of your work. Owners will be asked to re-accept in the app.
Payments. The Stripe Connected Account Agreement now applies to salons, alongside the new Salon Payments Addendum.
Text messages. Salons may not send marketing through LUX, or add a client’s number without that client’s opt-in.
Disclaimers. The warranty disclaimer now also covers the hardware and is set in capitals so it cannot be missed.
Indemnity and the whole agreement. Both now include the Hardware Terms and the Salon Payments Addendum.
