Email policy
Effective September 7, 2026
LUX sends email to run your account and, if you are a salon owner or staff member, to tell you what is happening in your business. This page lists every kind, says which you can switch off, and explains how product news works. Part of our policies.
01
What we send
Every email from LUX is about your account, your business, or something you asked for. There is no newsletter unless you turn one on (see Product news).
Account and sign-in. Confirming a new email address, a six-digit code when you reset your password, and a notice when a sign-in method is added or removed. These come from the sign-in system and cannot be switched off while you have an account.
Your team. An invitation when a salon owner adds you to their team, sent to the address they entered.
Billing. For the person who pays for a business: a payment received, a payment that failed and what to do about it, and a warning before a trial ends. Receipts and invoices themselves come from our payment processor, Stripe.
Alerts. A mirror that has gone offline, sent to the business owner so someone can check the power and the network.
Reservations. If you reserve a mirror on this site and pay the deposit, one email with your reservation details and the deposit perk. Nothing further unless you contact us.
02
Choosing what you get
In the LUX Mirror app, Settings › Notifications › Email has a switch for each category: booking activity, appointment reminders, payments, and payroll and payouts. All four are on when you join and each can be turned off on its own. The switch is per person, not per business, and the change takes effect on the next message.
Sign-in and security emails, and the billing emails that go to the person responsible for paying, are always sent: they are part of running the account, not a preference.
Clients have the same layout in the LUX Booking app under Settings › Notifications › Email, with two switches: booking activity and appointment reminders. Today those updates reach clients as push notifications or, if they opt in, as text messages; the email switches govern the same categories the day we add email delivery for clients, and nothing else.
03
Product news
Off by default. New features and tips are sent only to people who turn on Product news under Settings › Notifications › Email in the LUX Mirror app. If we send one, it will carry an unsubscribe link that works with a single click, in addition to the switch in the app, and we honour both within ten business days as the law requires — in practice, immediately.
We do not buy lists, we do not email people who have not created an account or reserved a mirror, and we never send product news to clients through the LUX Booking app.
04
The addresses we send from
App emails come from noreply@e.theluxmirror.com; sign-in emails come from noreply@mail.theluxmirror.com and are delivered through Resend. Both sending domains are authenticated (SPF, DKIM and DMARC). Replies to a noreply address are not read; write to support@theluxmirror.com instead.
We will never ask for your password, a card number, or a sign-in code by email. A sign-in code is only ever typed into the app that asked for it. If an email claiming to be from LUX asks for any of these, forward it to support@theluxmirror.com.
05
What the emails contain and what we keep
Emails carry the minimum needed to be useful: your name, the business name, the amount or the device name, and a link into the app. They never contain card numbers or passwords. Our provider keeps delivery logs (address, subject, delivered or bounced, opened) for up to 90 days so we can answer “did it arrive”; we do not use open tracking to profile anyone.
How we handle your address more broadly is in the Privacy Policy.
